(SharePoint 2010/NW 2010 v2.3.10.0)
I'm experiencing the above mentioned issue when attempting to use an InfoPath initiation form for a workflow we're developing for a client. At a high level, the workflow is collecting some data (one of the fields being a Person/Group) on the initiation form and using it to create an item in another list. The person group field is used to populate an 'assigned to' column in the target list.
I am able to recreate the problem on other workflows so I'm wondering if others have seen this issue and either found a fix or decided against using InfoPath initiation forms altogether. If I remove the person/group field from the create item action the list item creates and the workflow completes without error.
The error message is as follows:
"The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information."
Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
