Open form with Ribbon in Browse view

I would love to open our Nintex forms with the Ribbon in Browse mode instead of Edit.  Edit takes up a bunch of room at the top of the screen with the Edit, Save, Spell Checker, etc icons.  I found this post on how to hide the ribbon completely:

The problem with that option is then there is no spell check option and no rich text editor options for the rich text fields.

I've also seen the work around of appending '&InitialTabId=Ribbon.Read' to the end of the form url, but I would love to find a way to do this automatically without having to create a custom new item link.
