Document Approval Workflow

Hi,

 I am hoping someone can offer some advice, I am using Nintex workflow for approval of documents. Major and minor versions are turned on - the idea is that the document will get routed to various approvers once it is published as a major version.  The issue is that once the user checks in the document as a major version - it gets the major version number assigned, if any of the approvers reject the document, I want to revert back to the old version number (or increment it by one) and turn the document back into a minor version, pending approval.

 I would appreciate any insights you may have.
